My 2nd Flickrversary!

On August 15, 2007 I uploaded my first photo to Flickr. That means yesterday was my 2nd Flickrversary! During this last year I’ve been uploading photos mostly of my trips to the Greek Islands and (more recently) Rome, but also some photos from photowalks around Barcelona or day trips to Girona, Montblanc and other places in Catalonia. Due to work, I can’t always dedicate as much time to Flickring as I’d like, but I hope I still managed to learn and improve somewhat.
There’s still many photos of Rome, Greece, France or even Finland waiting to be uploaded to my photostream, and I hope I’ll be travelling again (which means more photos – yay!) soon… There’s also much of my hometown, Barcelona, I want to share with all of you!
I would like to thank all my Flickr friends for taking the time to view and comment my photos and for sharing your wonderful art. It is thanks to you that this continues to be a truly rewarding learning experience!

Commemorating 60 years of history, young and old alike gathered in Bethlehem’s Manger Square Sunday night forming a human clock.
Tourches were lit, one for each year of the Palestinian ‘nakba’ or ‘catastrophe.’ The hands spelled out "It’s Time for Palestine"
(An international advocacy event convened by the World Council of Churches).

This Phantom Ranch Mule Ride into the Grand Canyon National Park in the Spring of 2011 included two public school teachers from Chicago and San Diego. The unlikely encounter provided these co-riders with different perspectives in politics to discover common ground, as it is a rare privailege to dine, ponder, and lodge a mile below the South Rim at Phantom Ranch.

NYCDOT held an international design competition to select a design to beautify the new pedestrian plazas in Times Square while awaiting a full redesign and permanent build-out. A jury, including representatives from the Times Square Alliance, the Mayor’s Office and the Design Commission as well as an outside artist selected Cool Water, Hot Island from over 150 submissions and it was installed in July 2010.
Artist Molly Dilworth, best known in New York for her rooftop paintings, designed the mural based on the urban "heat-island effect," where cities tend to experience warmer temperatures than rural settings. The blues and light shades of the design reflect more sunlight and absorb less heat—improving the look of the popular pedestrian areas while also making it more comfortable places to sit.
Support was provided by donations made to the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City. The Mayor’s Fund is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting innovative public-private partnerships and projects such as those of the DOT. Photos are courtesy of the Times Square Alliance.

Ehhhhh. Food is not good, but drinks are made strong & are cheap. Bartender actually told me that I couldn’t bring food into the bar (it was just a snack). Bathrooms are gross. Not a fan.
